I was enlisted in the Army, I got caught shoplifting. I was discharged due to the shoplifting. On my DD 214, it is listed as "Misconduct, (Serious Offense)" a RE code of 3. That was 6 years ago, haven't been in trouble since then. I was wondering is what I had done considered as a serious offense, I had even told the MPs (in a statement) that if i would have the money i would of paid for it). It was just a bad time in my life.

Are you trying to enlist again? Or fill out a job application?

Were you punished by court-martial? in civilian court? in magistrate's court?

What was the dollar amount? (In Tennessee, under $500 is a misdemeanor, while $500 or more is a felony).
