Question

I live in Illinois, but my wife has filed for a divorce in Osceola County, FL. I have received the papers and the deadline to sign and return them was for the middle of June. My questions are 1) Will the divorce go through without me having to sign the papers and sending them in? 2) How long does it usually take for the divorce to become final? 3) Will I receive some form of document informing me that I am officially divorced?

Thank you for your time.

Answer

1. If she pursues it to completion, yes.

2. A few months if pursued.

3. Only if you so ask the court.
