My former employer is threatening to sue me for not giving them access to a company computer. After I left a former co-worker called and asked me for the passwords and I told him that I would only give them to a manager or the owner. The owner called me and I gave them to him. Now he is saying that the passwords that I gave him didn't work and that he is going to sue me for blocking them from having access to their computer software that is on the computer that they cannot access. Can I be sued for that?
Answer
Actually, you could be charged with a criminal offense if you are causing them to be unable to access their computer. If you have the correct passwords, I suggest you give them over.
