There have been several automobile funerals. Curiously none of the three deceased ladies died as the result of auto accidents. the cases are Sandra -can"t think of the last name, an Oil heiress who was buried in her Blue l964 Ferrari. She was dressed in a nightgown and the seat was reclined. a woman named Rose Martin, who was 82, was buried in her l962 white Corvair, the engine was removed ( Corvairs were rear-engined) some other auto parts were removed to accomodate her Casket- She"s in a Mahogany casket- this happened in l996 in Rhode Island. Finally, former female racing driver Donna Mae Mims was waked sitting up in her Pink l979 Corvette. There were a number of pictures taken But I can"t find one with a good angle on her body. this was in 2009 in the vicinitiry of Pittsburgh. Ms. Mims was later cremated- and the automobile was or is supposed to be donated to a museum. The Blue Ferrari and the White Corvair were interred with their owners.
