Question

i was convited of misterneaner domestic violance. and felony resisting arest with injury to an officer. i did four months in jail and did all my probation. my offence was in california. at the time i was a residant of new york. i did my time in california but my probation in new york and i still live in new york. i would like to vote and also be able to go hunting again what do i do. what state laws refure to my case

Answer

If you were under supervision of the New York State Division of Parole then you should apply for a Certificate of Relief from Disabilities form the division before attempting to apply for a gun license from your local police department - although it is likely that it will be a futile attempt to get a gun license given your past criminal conviction.
