How do you remove alternator 1999 grand marquis?
start by removing the belt. the best way is get a 1/2in ratchet or bigger with socket to fit the belt-tensioner. there will be an arrow indicating which way to put pressure. once the tension is taken off the belt take it off the pulley system. after there remove the power cable attached to the back of the alternator. then there should only be 2 bolts holding it to the engine. after removal of the bolts holding it in place replace old alternator with new and preform all steps in reverse. also your better off disconnecting the negative (black wire) from your battery before you do anything involving your electrical system
