How cars have changed since 1948?

How cars have changed since 1948?
PRICE: my first new car was a black 1948 Chevy convertible which cost $1800
including the optional AM radio and heater.
FEATURES: Standard 3speed+reverse was the only transmission choice. It had a vacuum assisted gear shift which occassionally dropped into neutral at high speed. The engine was a straight inline 6 designed for leaded gasoline. Rear wheel drive was the industry standard. No catalytic converter. Single exhaust.
POWER EQPT WAS NOT AVAILABLE: power brakes, steering, windows, door locks, air conditioning, ABS, positraction, and NO COMPUTER!
Ignition was provided by an ignition coil and breaker points. A single barrel carb - no fuel injection or ball joints.
