Question

How long do I have to bring a lawsuit against a man that we loaned money to and the project went bankrupt

Answer

Two years if the contract was oral and four years if it was in writing (assuming he did not go bankruptcy personally).

Answer

two years for a oral loan contract and four years for a written contract. This assumes that the subject debt was not already discharged in bankruptcy.
