My girlfriend was threatened by her boss that if she was dating anyone he would fire her. Can he do that?

Why is he doing it? Does he supervise anyone else? If so, does he have this same prohibitation?
If she is a covered employee she might want to first take the time to consult with an attorney. Of course, attending a consultation does not obligate her to retain counsel for the case. She might have a claim for discrimination and/or harrassment. However, more information is needed.
