We are selling my mothers house and we have a buyer and do not intend to use broker.What are the closing costs, whose is responsiable for for these fee's and what is a reasonable cost for a lawyer to protect my mothers safty and insure a legal transfer of the property. I am 59 and colect ss disability How do I protect that and lower my income tax as my mother will give me about $24,000 so I can have needed surgeries that I can not afford the co-pays after health ins and medicare pay their part.I have no idea what closing cost are involved nor the amount. the house will sell for $90,000 and is paid off.
