How do you change fuel filter in your 2005 avalanche?
2005 GM half-ton trucks(silverado 1500) and the like(tahoes, suburbans, avalanche) often do not have an external filter, meaning a fuel filter other than the one inside the fuel tank on the fuel pump sock, few 2005 models may have an external filter according to GM SI which is the repair manual used by GM dealerships, so if you do not see a filter along the frame railing about exactly midway under the cab of 2005 GM trucks and avalanches chances are it doesnt have one, weird huh? but true i am a GM Technician and i was shocked to discover that this model often doesnt have the external filter, hope you can find this was helpful.. the only bad thing is that if you do infact need a new filter the tank must be dropped, the pump removed, and the suck sock replaced,(not a fun job, and pricey at a dealership or other garages.
