Question

A man named Mr. Kramer called me. He said there were two cases of fraud against me. I asked him for his first name, an address, and a fax number. He wouldn't give me any of those. He got nasty and said that he was only legally required to notify me by phone. He gave me a case number and told me that if I didn't take care of the matter by 4:30 that day (which was an hour away) a summons would be issued. It sounded fishy so I hung up. Could this be legitimate?

Answer

This was answered on the AVVO site and you got excellent answers.
