Am I allowed to install shelves on my side of a common wall that seperates two propertys

Question

Am I allowed to install shelves on my side of a common wall that seperates two propertys

Answer

Yes, as long as you do not damage the other side of the wall.

Answer

Normally, yes, if thre is no agreement between the co-owners limiting uses of the wall in any way and the shelves do not interfere with the purpose of the wall. Actually, it is fairly common for neighbors to use their side of a party wall or boundary fence for something, often as simple as strings for climbing beans or morning glories, paintings, etc.
