How long after ordereing does it take for a newcar to be made and delivered?
I work at a auto manufacturing plant in the logistics department. I can't speak for all car manufacturers but I do know that it takes approximately 4 months for a vehicle to be built and delivered to the dealership. It doesn't take that long to build the vehicle but manufacturers work on a "first-in-first-out" ordering and delivery system which means that your order is placed on a "build list" so other orders must be filled before your vehicle will start being built. That time may be longer depending on demand for that specific vehicle. For example, the wait time for a hybrid (gas/electric) vehicle may be longer if gas prices are high and there is a high demand for them. This would mean that once you place your order it will be placed at the back of the line behind a higher than normal amount of orders, thus the longer wait time. This is based on mass manufacturing only. High end vehicles that are hand built are a whole other animal. Hope this helped....
