Does high altitude driving mostly at 5000 feet in Boulder County CO mean more wear and tear on your car and require different servicing?
Not really anymore. Older cars needed to have timing adjustments and so on but the newer computer controlled cars pretty much take care of all that for you. You will notice that up there the octane requirementss are different and I would recommend that you have your tires serviced with nitrogen because the temperature fluctuates more rapidly at altitude. It will cost you about 30 dollars but will pay for itself in increased tire life and you won't be constantly having to add air to the tires.
