Question

i am representing my self in a divorce case. my previous attorney requested a discovery which is not responded yet and i have additional discovery questions. What should I do.

Answer

It should be crystal clear that the answer is to hire another lawyer (or get your old one back). If you don't know the most basic procedures before a trial, you have no chance at trial. If you choose to try to be your own lawyer, it is your responsibility to figure out what to do.

Answer

The fact that you asked what should I do indicates that the one thing you MUST do is get legal counsel. While you almosty always will fare poorly in a case where you represent yourself, if you choose to do it, you only do it if you have researched thoroughly and understand every step and procedure.

If you have failed to answer some discovery the sanction can inclue a dismissal of all your claims, a win for the other side, and attorneys fees to the other side.

If you have not filed discovery you should have filed, it could be too late, since there are deadlines that may or may not be extendable by motion.

But mainly, you MUST get counsel.
