Question

I was charged with driving with a counterfiteinspection sticker in virginia. Five days after the offense, I legally got my car inspected and it passed. What can I expect?

Answer

If you yourself were involved in the counterfeiting or knew about it but nevertheless allowed the bogus sticker to be displayed on your vehicle, you could face criminal liability. Va. Code Sec. 46.2-1173.

However, if you can convince the prosecutor and court that you have an innocent

explanation for it, the charge should be dismissed with your only having

to pay the court costs.
