Question

can a bank account be levied for money owed by a person if that bank account is shared by three other people? people with account live in california. child support of new jersey owed the money.

Answer

Sure can. Anything in the debtors name can be levied no matter who else is on the account or ownership of an asset. With things like cash in a bank account that cannot be segregated and that the debtor could take all of it themselves, the levy reaches all of it. When it is something like title to real property where each ownership interest is distinct and the debtor couldn't sell the whole thing without the others, only the debtor's interest is reached by the levy.
