How do you make money from art?
Since I personally hate parting with my non commissioned works, I choose to take advantage of many print on demand services, set up online stores with my art and pretty much promote my work everywhere in order to get more commissions, i found this site helpful,www.makemoneyfrommyart.com, i also like to look at the ATC's on eBay to get ideas about what sells well there.
I think offline marketing is all about being creative with your promotion techniques and being involved with your local community...don't be afraid to just help someone and do the occasional free work..word spreads.
I have been impressed with the techniques of William Hessian who created many miniature art hunts across the nation which spread promotion virally and got lots of media coverage www.williamhessian.com (think i spelled that right)
